MIDDLE GRADE READING: You Are Not Alone

Middle Grade ReadingMIDDLE GRADE READING: You Are Not Alone

Middle grade reading is perhaps the most important thing a middle school student can do.  This post on the Saltwater Taffy website was written to remind middle school children this very important lesson: You are no different than the classmate sitting next to you.

You are no different than the kid who bully’s you.

You are no different than the most popular kid at school.

You are no different than the smartest kid in class. You are no different the kid sitting in the Dean’s office.

You are no different than the kid you hate.

You are no different than the kid playing his trumpet in the school band.

You are no different than the kid sitting in the dugout, riding the bench.

You are no different than the head cheerleader.

You are no different than the kid being laughed at.

You are no different than the kid who works in the lunchroom.

You are no different than the kid who rides the bus to school.

You are no different than the kid who hates you.

You are no different than the rich kid who has everything.

You are no different than the kid who has nothing.

You are no different than the track star.

You are no different than kid who is out sick today.

You are no different than the kid with the new iPhone.

You are no different than your teacher.

You are no different than your principal.

You are no different than the homeless man on the street.

You are no different than the person who is on TV.

And…you are no different than the kid you think you should be.

Self-assured and filled with glee…there is no difference between you and me.
