Saltwater Taffy has been given the 2012 Gelett Burgess Children’s Book Award in the LIFE SKILLS category!!!!

Gelett Burgess Children's Book AwardThe Gelett Burgess Children’s Book Awards advisory council looks for books that entertain and teach with an energetic and creative approach.  The books selected by the Gelett Burgess Children’s Book Council must stimulate a child’s imagination, as well as inspire them creatively.

Advisory council members want to know a book will make an impact in a child’s life by helping them grow: socially, emotionally, ethically, intellectually, and physically.

Saltwater Taffy is not only an epic adventure novel for Tweens, the book teaches and guides young readers to live their lives on purpose with a purpose.  Endorsed by 12 Teachers of the Year around the country, Saltwater Taffy follows the lives of 5 tweenage friends as they embark on a treasure-hunting adventure.  Set during the 4th of July weekend, Saltwater Taffy is a g-rated story for the entire family.

To be one of the many Award Winning Childrens Books on the market today is cool, but the latest review for Saltwater Taffy is super SAWEET cool.  The review of Saltwater Taffy by Dr. Karen P, a reviewer from Readers Favorite council who has spent a lifetime working with children and families, dissects the purpose of Saltwater Taffy down to a SAWEET T.  She wrote a long review, but for the sake of your time, here is the first sentence in the review:

As an author of books for kids, the one thing on my mind when I’m writing is to make sure I entertain the reader.  The idea of inspiring a young mind is amazing.  The possibilities are endless.  Imagine creating a lasting impression on a young mind?  An impression that can last a lifetime…is awesome!

Saltwater Taffy wins The Nautilus Book Awards Silver Medal!  The Nautilus Book Awards recognizes books that promote spiritual growth, conscious living & positive social change, while at the same time they stimulate the “imagination” and offer the reader “new possibilities” for a better life and a better world.

Past winning authors of this award include Deepak Chopra, Lynn Twist, Dr. Michael Bernard Beckwith, Eckhart Tolle, and Thich Nhat Hanh.  We are super excited to receive this Nautilus Award!  Thank you to the voting council and here’s to our next adventure!
